The following organisations support Wildlife Safe Tasmania:
Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary
Bonorong is a Sanctuary for wildlife run by a passionate team of like-minded people. We’re a social enterprise: a little business with a big heart. The skills and funds generated through the Sanctuary allow us to proactively address problems in our surrounding environment and communities.
A visit to Bonorong is a chance to come closer than ever to something wild and fragile. You’ll come face to face with animals that became extinct long ago in other parts of Australia - the same animals we’re working hard to protect now.
Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary offers Tasmania’s largest 24-hour state-wide wildlife rescue service seven days per week.. Please call 0447 264 625 if you need advice or help bringing in an injured animal.
RACT
The Australian Automobile Association of Tasmanian provides services such as roadside assistance, vehicle, home and contents insurance, personal and car loans, driver's education and tourism.
With over 200,000 members it also engages in consumer advocacy, particularly regarding petrol price and safe mobility advocacy, giving members a voice on motoring issues across Tasmania.
In 2023, RACT joined forces with the Wildlife Safe Tasmania and Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, to raise awareness of the roadkill issue with a clear message: Slow down between dusk and dawn, when the animals on our roads are most present.
The Kingborough Mens Shed
The Kingston Men’s Shed is an early member of the Australian Men’s Shed Association located at 12 - 14 Gormley Drive off Summerleas Road, Kingston, Tasmania, on what used to be the Riding for the Disabled site.
Members vary in age from 40 to 90, although the average would be in the late sixties. Knowledge and experience are shared, information exchanged, jokes told, and, when necessary, support and encouragement provided.
We are always ready to welcome new members. Please contact us to find out how.
